Pay-as-you-go bookings for University of Essex staff and student non-members will be available for fitness classes, recreational activities and Active Campus sessions.

Please ensure you have read our Terms and Conditions before making a booking and visiting us. By making a booking, you are agreeing to abide by our terms.

We have a number of different facilities and activities available to book. These include:

• Fitness Classes
• Recreational Sport Bookings (.pdf)
• Active Campus Social Sessions
• Leagues and Tournaments
• Adult Learn To Courses
• Children's Courses and School Holiday Activities

• Non-marking shoes
• Please bring your own equipment; we are unable to hire equipment and have limited stock available for purchase (rackets, balls etc)

The advance booking period depends on your membership:

• Gold members will be able to book 14 days in advance
• Silver members will be able to book 10 days in advance
• Bronze members will be able to book 7 days in advance
• Non-members will be able to book 3 days in advance

Our COVID measures have recently been relaxed, but there are a number of things we are still doing to keep members and visitors safe whilst visiting Essex Sport. These include:

• We encourage all members and visitors to regularly carry out a lateral flow test.
• You are not required to wear a face covering whilst moving around indoor facilities, however face coverings are still required for large gatherings, including spectator sports.
• Our staff regularly carry out cleaning of all facilities and touch points.
• Our staff continue to test regularly for COVID-19 and are required to isolate in the event that they test positive.
• We are now operating as a cashless facility; only card payments will be accepted on site.
